There is ZERO Italian about this movie. Just your typical Hollywood unfunny sitcom of a dysfunctional family with neurotic characters. The producers chose to slander Italians with this trash, but they could have chosen any other ethnic group.
Don't waste your time.
If you want to see an actual funny movie about a dysfunctional Sicilian family, try Seduced and Abandoned.

This is a fun film that contains all the ingredients necessary for sustained enjoyment. As the moviegoer I felt each of the characters was relatable in more than one aspect. While they shared a certain commonality in behaviors and attitude, each also maintained an individual uniqueness and charm that,in differing capacities, endeared each to the viewer. It is a fine portrayal of how individual perspective of human weakness results in a vast array of conclusions. Moreover the film recognized, if not celebrated, the power of tradition, loyalty and family and how these bonds, or lack thereof, command attention and drive expressive emotion in each and every one of us. Plus, who doesn't enjoy observing others who are convincingly crazier than any of us dare declare ourselves to be. Much of the photography was excellent and the scene transitions were timely, creating a level balance of dialogue and visual stimulation. The elements of mass appeal contained within the story provide a vehicle for entertainment of young and old alike. Each of the actors performed with a measured pride in the work. The overall satisfaction in the entertainment value of this film is a fine testament to the worthy effort put forth by the producers, cast and crew.
There are no redeeming qualities to this movie. No one was Italian and it was filmed in Atlanta.
The story makes little sense and is full of contradictions. The acting is enthusiastic, but that is a generous as I can be.
It's not even ironically funny it's just bad to the core.
If you had lived on an island for 30 years without access to technology and were miraculously rescued and brought back to civilization and decided to watch this, you'd still hate it.
I would live to know how people get funded to makes this junk I have an idea for an automated nose picking machine I like investors for.

I really enjoyed watching "Inheritance Italian Style". It's fun and engaging, perfect for all. The characters are very unique but, at the same time, well connected with each other through out the story. Each of them has a different story and absolutely different personality but they all mix very well together, just like any real family but.... just a little crazier. There are many unexpected situations that keep you watching and wondering about what happen next. Photography and music are excellent, creating a perfect balance with the story and the characters. I highly recommend this movie if you are looking for some fun and relaxing time.

I had a blast watching Doug Bremner's "Inheritance Italian Style", he also appears as the postman in the film. The characters are inspired by his wife's family's roots in Italy, props/decor are excellent. Though the film was shot in Atlanta, I thought it's shot in Italy. The estate, grape vines, and the farmland are all very quaint. This is an independent film made possible by the director's resources and other kickstarter government initiatives. The director still does a great job compared to boring movies with larger budgets and resources. Characters are dysfunctional and fun. Watch this indie gem for a good time!
