Oh boy, I know how to pick them; another movie from Maverick Entertainment. And I have watched enough of their usually questionable movies to actually be able to distinguish their movies by the cover alone. But I still opted to give the 2023 movie "His Last Wife", from writer and director LaQuita Langhorn, a fair chance, since it was movie that I hadn't already seen.
The storyline in this movie was a dull one, to say the least. I struggled desperately to feign interest in the narrative, but have to admit defeat. The movie just had no entertainment value for me, and the storyline offered nothing interesting or exciting to the movie.
I was not familiar with a single actor or actress on the cast list, but I have to say that I usually find movies that are written by, directed by and starring the one and same person, as was that case with LaQuita Langhorn in this movie, to be questionable affairs. The acting performances in the movie were fair, despite the fact that the script was rubbish.
At least the production level in the movie was good, in comparison to many other movies from Maverick Entertainment, so that was at least something.
"His Last Wife" isn't worth the effort, and wasting 88 minutes on the movie is not something I would recommend.
My rating of writer and director LaQuita Langhorn's 2023 movie "His Last Wife" lands on a generous three out of ten stars.
