Burt Reynolds: The Last Interview

This is a film of Burt Reynolds talking unscripted, that gives you a clear vision of WHO this man really was. You'll have laughs and moments of tears. Unfortunately when you put yourself out there as a movie star, people will make attempts to bring you down. Burt Reynolds was a man with a very big heart and loved to help others. It was very interesting to listen to others (like Quentin Tarantino) who knew Burt, talk about him as they truly knew him. This film was very well done which included people who were very close to...the real Burt Reynolds. This is a documentary that my wife and I will be watching again.

It was so cool to see Burt in this because it was like an indie movie is what I do and it was cool I mean love Burt Reynolds but this was different really enjoyed it. Really enjoyed it from beginning to finish. When I first saw it come out I was curious I didn't now if this was a movie or a documentary. When I was getting ready to do my movie we met at Burt Reynolds place in Jupiter Florida and of course big fan of Burt Reynolds. Also we had meetings at Burt's place in Jupiter as well. Anyway to wrap up, sorry I'm all over the place but it was enjoyable and I really loved Burt, and was called as an extra fro Smokey and the Bandit 2 but as at my girl friends house and missed the call. BURT REYNOLDS: THE LAST INTERVIEW is truly a gem, as three of Hollywood's greats, Burt Reynolds, Quentin Tarantino, and Rick Pamplin, discuss Reynold's life, his teachings and his advice for the next generation of actors, writers, and directors. Deeply moving, it sheds a final light on the legend's life; the struggles he faced, his dreams, his rise to fame, and his thoughts about the industry and what we have to do to preserve it. Hearing it in his own words and seeing the light and sadness in his eyes really drives the lessons home. Fans and filmmakers everywhere owe it to themselves to see this work of art.

I enjoyed this film. It was inspiring to hear how to make your own movie without hollywood backing. I appreciate how it provides insight into what you need to make it happen, and some advice for how to do it properly. The interviews are with people who have personal knoweldge of the industry, and don't try to make it appear overly easy or simple. I also appreciate that they focused their dollars on the message and not on bells and whistles.

My only negative comment would be that I wish that it went more in depth. I would like to have learned more about certain aspects of the process, and unfortunately, the movie couldn't be 5 hours. Maybe do a sequel?

Also, I appreciated the way the documentary made it feel as though we were in the same room with Burt Reynolds. It created an opportunity to feel a connection with him, as if we were getting to know him on a very personal level. It almost felt like I had spent time with Burt Reynolds after watching this documentary.
