Those reviews which point out the absurdities in this story are likely right. The characters are about as thick a sheet of newsprint, the plotline often suspends belief and the acting frequently trends towards the sound of an American football hitting one of the uprights.
However, if you're an action fan (I am), you will find it pleasurably entertaining to look beyond all of the above and just enjoy a film of the genre that rarely rests for expositional development - character, or otherwise. Campbell's foot is on the gas start to finish and that pleased me. I would agree the final result is fairly wooden, but less than an IMDB 5? Not in this reviewer's opinion. Relax everyone, not every movie these days aspires to 'rosebud' status. That's why you smuggled your own snacks into the theatre, right? Eat, watch and be entertained. Still not sure? Make it a matinee showing and you are likely to agree not only with this review but the price of admission as well.

The only reason this movie got two-stars is because it manages to equally insult every nationality depicted, and because it has Eva Green and Ruby Rose, among other promising actresses.
Eva Green: I read that she wants to return to theater. Ok, but maybe have your agent find better projects. I don't understand why she ever agreed to do this awful film. It was such a miscast.
Ruby Rose: As an actress she's best suited for the sarcastic, tough character roles, and so it's perplexing that here she gets a different role which doesn't really suit her specific, narrow-ranged talents.
Pretty much everything with this move is bad. Both Martin Cambell (director) and Jonas McCord (writer) should be ashamed of themselves. Alissa Sullivan Haggis (writer), too. Atrocious.

Whoever the military advisor was should be fired. I retired from the Marines and the uniforms and medals and everything to do with the military in this movie was not just wrong but it was comedic . Eva Green tried to carry it which is the only reason i watched it. I would have done the advising for free I and all other vets are tired of the movies getting it wrong! The overseas filming makes it out to be much better than it really is like the young women playing and sports and the few guards in a taliban area at all. I understand its a movie but some realism goes a long way with making the movie better.
I wasn't expecting anything special from Dirty Angels, but I thought I may have a look as Martin Campbell did some descent movies before.
Dirty Angels isn't one of them. It is a terrible movie.
Nothing is working in this film.
Script is bad, dialogues are bad, actors are bad (especialy Eva Green who keeps the same angry face all the time), there is no chemistry between members of the team so we don't care about them.
So of course, the action is uninteresting and badly shot, and the CGI, oh the CGI... Come on, we are in 2024, any student with a PC is able to do this kind of stuff now.
Boring and vain movie.
Don't waste your time on this lemon.

Somewhere deep underneath all the inexplicable absurdity, there is a brilliant comedy that wants to get out.
I am really struggling to understand what this movie tries to be. Let's gently set aside the brief CGI atrocities, the over-the-top-tropes, the obvious girlboss pandering, horrible & at times hilariously nonsensical dialogue, inconsequential character decisions & interactions, lackluster drama, laughable gunplay & tactics & the disgustingly flirtatious & ultimately nihilistic take on violence, victimhood & resolve.
Honestly, I was really hoping for the late Leslie Nielsen to pop up, wearing a tuxedo. Or a half naked Charlie Sheen, dual wielding RPG7s.
There is not one single solitary likeable character, including Eva Green, who not only can't move, let alone run, but also seems to have forgotten how to act, maybe as a courtesy to the rest of the cast.
I'm giving this pile of utterly pointless contrivance a 3/10 out of respect for the multiple efficient usage of one single, half-assed Humvee that gets blown up somewhere in the middle of the movie & yet is used throughout the whole production. He was a good boy.

Você sabia?
- CuriosidadesThe story portrayed in the film is entirely fictional. No American soldiers tried to rescue Afghan girls from the Taliban.
- Erros de gravaçãoThe uniforms are completely wrong - there are USMC insignia on army dress uniforms and the insignia on the USMC dress uniforms are wrong, as well. No army officer would have tattoos reaching down to his or her hands, and no officer would be unshaven and long-haired like that colonel at the hearing.
