Who Murdered Meredith Kercher?

I will start by saying that I do not know whether Knox and Sollecito murdered Kercher or not. I do, however, know that this documentary was compromised by the omission of so many very important elements of evidence.

Example: no mention was made of the bleach at Sollecito's. The local shop-owner testified that when he opened his shutters the morning after the murder Knox was already waiting there, went straight to the cleaning supplies section and then left in the direction of the apartment. The alibi Knox went to court with said she was asleep in Sollecito's apartment at this time. There was a standing-order on Sollecito's cleaner not to use bleach but the police found the apartment to stink of it and the cleaner confirmed there was no smell of it whatever the day before. The police found two bottles of bleach under the sink.

Example: no mention was made of Knox and Sollecito lying about phoning the Carabinieri Police. They told the Postal Police c. 12:35 and flatmate Romanelli not later than 12:45 that they had already called the Carabinieri, when in fact they didn't call until 12:51.

Example: no mention was made of Knox lying to the Postal Police that Kercher's door was always locked - even when Kercher took a shower - and so persuading them to leave it unopened. When flatmate Romanelli heard that Knox had told the police this she had a friend force the door. Flatmate Mezzetti testified that Kercher had locked her door only once during her entire stay there, and that was when she left the country.

Example: no mention was made of the fact that an outside intruder would have to walk past a driveway full of stones, select one weighing 4-5kg (9-11lbs, heavier than the women's Olympic shot putt) to break a window 12 feet up, or that this stone would have to break the glass and pass through the closed shutters before landing in Romanelli's bedroom. We know the shutters were closed because the smashed glass stopped at the line of them.

Also problematic was presenting as "experts" people who worked for the Knox family. The programme-makers' granting of this "expert" accolade to imply the independence of Greg Hampikian (who called Knox's parents for instructions) and Steve Moore (who was an effective member of Knox's parents' campaign team and who ran a for-profit to free Americans imprisoned overseas) allowed them to state defence claims to viewers throughout the programme as if they were facts.

Credit must, however, be given for the several instances in which the programme put forward conflicting views and sought balance, e.g. While including the old trope that authorities lied to get Knox to list her lovers (in fact Knox wrote in her memoir that the list was her own decision with nobody asking her to write it, she doesn't claim she was lied to and the suggestions is that this claim came later from her father) it does also highlight that Knox threw under the bus a man she knew to be innocent. This was by no means the direct pro-Knox and Sollecito whitewash which some other productions have been.
