Three episodes, three feasible conspiracy theories with all the underlying evidence exposed ... the third one is the best and least believable ... or is it?
This docudrama takes you through a timeline from the first instance MH370 being missed to the eventual dropping of the search in the South Indian Ocean.
There are heartbreaking interviews with family member of the missing plus team members of the search teams. All of which are searching for an answer to the disappearance of loved ones. Sometimes these are angry but all agree that they're not being told the truth.
But is the truth out there?

The story behind the disappearance of MH370 is a tragic mystery that deserves serious and careful analysis. Alas this three-episodes series devotes most of its time and attention to crackpots who are peddling moronic "double-agents in the CIA met with the Uzbekistani navy at Roswell to recruit Bigfoot to steal the plane" conspiracy theories; and, even worse, it gives a sympathetic platform to the cynical creeps who are exploiting the families of the passengers for fame and money. These people are disgusting, particularly a French "journalist" preying on the hope and denial of a grieving father and husband.
Although the series does also briefly present more rational perspectives, it never effectively challenges the crackpots and con-artists' sophistry.

I swear 9 out of 10 documentaries on Netflix follow the basic outline of:
1. Being way too long and could really be condensed into 90-120 min.
2. Start out ok but eventually drift into the unknown so they theorize what may have happened.
3. By the 3rd episode the conspiracy theories take precedence to what the actual documentary is about.
This story is a sad incident and it sucks that this documentary took this classic Netflix turn and got hijacked by that dude that talked way too much. Seriously, did they run out of people to interview? Instead you gave most of the screen time to the guy that suggested Russians hatched some elaborate scheme to bury a Russian invasion from the media? Wtf! Haha. I'm sorry but I really wanted to see this as the real story was odd but this was bad all around.

Wow! The absurdity and just clear lack of sympathy for the families of the victims of this horrible tragedy is just astounding. I found Jeff Wise to be absolutely infuriating. The guy just needs to write murder mystery novels with his crazy thinking and leave actual reality for people with a sense of sanity. How the producers at Netflix found him tolerable, let alone lead pretty much most of the show is the real conspiracy. Russia anyone? Maybe trying to brain-dumb more Americans so they can eventually take over the world. In spite of all that, I really did feel for the victims of the tragedy. What they went through is absolutely horrific. May we all know what happened very soon.
There are so many conspiracy theories presented in this "documentary" with zero evidence whatsoever. The main theorist, Jeff Wise, has multiple bizarre chains of events that he has concocted in his mind based with no evidence to support his theories. He ascribes no motive to any of the people or governments to whom he tries to blame (eg the pilot, three Russian passengers, etc). I'm surprised Netflix thought this was fit to air.
He has done no research into the private lives of the pilot (who he smeared for 10 minutes before saying, "oh, maybe it wasn't him) or the three Russian men. This "documentary" is utter tabloid garbage.

- CuriosidadesThe deputy spokeswoman of the Vietnamese foreign ministry Pham Thu Hang stated that the first episode of the series inaccurately claimed that Vietnam did not cooperate in international efforts to search for the missing plane. She said,
"...the documentary MH370: The Plane That Disappeared ... does not accurately reflect the efforts of the Vietnamese authorities, causing discontent in the Vietnamese public opinion. We ask that the producers and filmmakers accurately portray Vietnam's contributions in the search and rescue for the plane and to remove or amend inaccurate information."
