This is one of the worst programs I've ever seen.
If I heard one more person say "...and I just lost it!" I might have commited a murder of my own. Literally every single episode, at least one person said that exact sentence. Its like they'd been told to say it as some kind of tagline.
It's almost impressive that the cops were willing to participate in a tv program that showed how completely incompetent they are. Ffs, in one case they had a missing woman, her husband said she'd run away with her boyfriend, her boyfriend (who was conspicuously present) had reported her missing; and the lead detective couldn't work out which story was more likely to be true. At least now all the dumb tv cops who chase their tails and jump to weird conclusions and miss really obvious clues make sense now, it's not just to fill 42mins of air time, American police really are like that.
What I really don't understand about the program is that the various forces weren't too ashamed of what they put the families through to talk about it on tv. All but one of the cases was basically solved through the actions of a relative or relatives of the victim; one detective spoke about a relative of the victim becoming a little detective, like it was a good thing and not just admitting that the police was so useless a grieving relative had to do their job for them.
I only watched the whole thing because I couldn't be bothered to look for something else to watch, and I knew there were only 6 episodes. And the cases themselves were quite interesting, it was just everything about how they were worked that makes the show so very, very bad.
