I was lucky enough to stumble into the theatre of the Santa Monica Film Festival this past November and see a film called Stolen Dough. I had no idea about a 1 billion dollar lawsuit against Pizza Hut, the biggest of its time! However it was amazing to see scenes and a screenplay telling the story, rather than regular talking heads interviews. This films runs a little on the short side, however I think director and write Stefano Da Fre did a good job with the efficiency of the film because its paced very well. I would advise you to pay attention because it really moves fast, and very action packed. Also gotta say: love the music! Respectfully.
Stolen Dough captures very well the profound sense of betrayal and injustice experienced by Mongiello, This Documentary presents a stark reminder of the power imbalances in the corporate world. Legal battles of this nature not only take a financial toll on the "little guy" but are emotional as well.
Mongiello and his family deserve to be recognized and valued for this creation/recipe and hopefully this film ends up helping them towards receiving that.
I wasn't expecting to be so emotionally invested in this documentary. Intellectual property theft probably happens more often than we hear about and the lengths to which corporations will go to protest their own interest is so frustrating. Anyone that is concerned with fairness and justice, Stolen Dough is a must watch.

Stolen Dough brings to light a deeply upsetting case of corporate greed. It's heartbreaking that this young Italian American investor was not given proper credit. Wish we heard of this sooner as we have enjoyed way too many Pizza Hut stuffed crust pizzas. After watching this documentary we researched Anthony Mongiello online and found a tutorial he had on how to make the perfect stuffed crust pizza at home. We did it and let me tell you he definitely knows what he is talking about! It was delicious!
Sorry for Monticello's struggle against a corporate behemoth.
A great documentary! This is a film my husband and I highly recommend.

Great, Great,Great!
I had NO idea this happened, this is a true david & Goliath story, except Goliath won ,how & why is the big question, it should have been a cut/dry case, or make a fair offer, so that this man can live his american dream, instead of stealing it. I did a little research on Anthony, and I think in the end he did get a piece of the pie, he made a success out of himself and has a very successful Fresh Mozzarella company, called FORMAGGIO which I have seen on the supermarket and club store shelves, and have had it at family gatherings and have enjoyed it, now that I know some history about it and it's not some conglomerate of a corporation, and was built with a Vision, blood, sweat and tears I will support the brand!!!

This film truly is touching, beautiful, emotional and such an experience to watch. I am so glad to know the true story of who invented Stuffed Crust Pizza and so sad to see what Anthony went through, yet so happy to see who he made himself to be. A must watch, true story, made with love.. you can tell! It was such a great experience to watch this film. I felt like I was living it with him. A story that will leave a mark in the food history books! The producers did a fantastic job on creating this movie.
I can watch it over and over again and not be bored!!! Had me on my toes the whole time!! Love this film!
