Not often you see a cop film with psychism at its core

Of course for the older viewers when they hear the name Miou-Miou they think back to Corações Loucos (1974) and now Miou-Miou is 74 here but still wily a character and a disturber of the established order

This is boiler-plate crime the baddies are where you would expect them; there are many personal family subplots worked into the main tale and it is done excellently

All the main acting folks here pulling their weight gracefully

For me happy to see a respectful treatment of psychism to help solve mysteries; and this in the land of Descartes and Comtism I expected any minute they would poo-poo it all but they never did

She even gets a job in the end as a consultant (tiny spoiler will spoil nowt)

Ace entertainment with food for thought.
