I haven't read the books myself, or not the entire thing, but I know that they are (as usual) better than the film adaptation.

Which, honestly, doesn't matter here.

It's a children's film with mostly child actors, so what do you expect?

Of course, the acting talent could be improved, but it's not bad.

If you see the film through children's eyes-which is the intention here-then it doesn't matter at all.

The animation is perfectly acceptable and sufficient for children, far better than many others.

You shouldn't go into this expecting it to be a blockbuster, as it's simply a typical children's/youth film aimed at younger audiences.

If you're a big fan of the books, you might be disappointed by the animation, etc.

All in all, a good children's/youth film, with a good message (you just have to think about what they want to tell us), better than other films today. Sweet for children - less so for book fans.

It's okay- nothing really special, but it's a lot like the book. But the actors weren't that good and the animation was dissapointing, also the music wasn't fitting. I wouldn't watch it again, but for little kids it's a good movie (also good books that are better than the movie). So: good movie for kids (but that's actually clear, it's a kids book series and a kids movie), kids also don't really pay attention to acting, music and animation, so they will like it (trust me). I just would recommend to read the book (or all of them) before watching the movie, because they didn't really explain everything and what they explained, they didn't always explain good.

I couldn't even watch the second half, I stopped midway. I love the books dearly, and they butchered sooo badly the movie adaptation.

The pacing is absolutely terrible. The fight scenes are... what the. It's a horrendous movie overall.

Did they hire fifth graders to write the screenplay?

What was the budget, 2 euros? 😭

Woodwalkers tries to ride the wave of young adult fantasy adaptations but ends up lost in the woods. The plot feels rushed and underdeveloped, with character arcs that barely register. Visual effects are inconsistent, and the dialogue is often cringeworthy. Even fans of the book may find this adaptation disappointing.
