Quy Cau

I find this movie good as a low-budget movie with actors and director that are not very popular in Vietnam.

The plot, filmmaking and cinematography are basic and generic. I think the best part about the movie plot is about the "legend" told by the characters through the film. Moreover, the conflicts among the family members, as well as the love of the couple - also the main two characters, have been described very well, which makes the movie more entertaining and emotional at some points in my opinion.

About the acting, the actresses of Xuan, the main female character in the movie, and Nam's mother have done their very best in playing the characters. Most of the other characters were also played decently in my point of view. As for Nam, the other main character, I think there were some overacting parts, especially when the movie was reaching to its end.

As a low-budget movie, the fact that the CGI used is simple is acceptable. However, I find it disappointing about some "unreal" visual effects being too obviously used, as it may be the critical drawback of the movie.

That has been all. Overall, the movie is still worth a watch despite having some downsides, and I recommend watching this with family or partner. It has potential to stand out among other Vietnamese movies. At one point do I hope that it will even has a chance to be featured in other countries as well.

Decent plot, horrible CGI, the CGI is so bad that other viewers in my cinema and myself can't help but laugh at how fake it is, the devil itself is nowhere scary, the horrible CGI come along with bad acting from some characters in the movie since the scenes are too fake. The only scene that can consider "scary" is the very last 10 minutes of the film. From my personal view, the plot is carrying the film or they are just abusing the plot since it hinges around dog meat trading problem to build empathy in others. I understand it is such a nice thing to go through problems like this and acknowledge people with how you shouldn't treat animals badly, karma..etc.. but it still does not change the fact that the film is bad itself.
