DO NOT WASTER YOUR TIME ON THIS FILM.
I could only handle about 30 minutes of this disaster. The writing is terrible. The characters are one dimensional. The actors need to look for other work.
It is listed as a "retelling of the classic Cinderella story". At least they were honest on that point. But (oh there is always a but), this is a terrible retelling of the story, which only solidifies my opinion that there is no creativity left in this genre of movie. Can you not come up with an original concept? Or if you are going to use a too often used concept at least put a twist on it that doesn't leave it a tired and boring view.
The writing is terrible. We are told the publisher's ball is a networking event.
So then why would you make it a masquerade ball, when people can not tell who each other is? That goes against any networking theory I've studied. And the trope of not being able to tell who someone is because they wear a mask is, again, old and way overused. Another example of the writers lacking thought and creativity.
AND what is with the hair of the writer's agent? That is just ridiculous, visually distracting and disturbing.
I could go on and on and on about the faults of this movie, even though I only watched the first 30 minutes. But I will stop here with hopes that you will take my advise and not waste your precious time on this disaster.
