The Bangkok Boy

The Bangkok Boy is a gritty, emotionally loaded BL series that dives into some pretty dark themes. It's a mix of action, crime drama, and a bit of romance sprinkled in-and honestly, I enjoyed it a lot since I'm a sucker for this kind of show.

That said, I couldn't help but notice that Tape, the main lead, looked a bit too old to be playing someone who's supposed to be 18/21. Still, he nailed the role. His acting was raw and convincing, and the fight scenes were really well done. The chemistry between the leads is definitely there, although I wasn't a fan of the NC scene-it felt way too rough for my taste. The GL couple also had amazing chemistry, and the entire cast really brought their A-game, even the villains. Special shout-out to Aion-he gave a consistently solid performance all throughout.

I also have to give props to Top. I've seen him in Every You and Every Me, where he played a more feminine character, and here he pulled off a more masculine vibe effortlessly. He's clearly a versatile actor who can carry both ends of the spectrum really well.

Now let's talk about Peace's dad-he seriously got on my nerves. Always twisting things to control everyone around him, even his own sons. Episode 10, in particular, was the hardest one to watch emotionally.

I appreciate that the series stayed serious and didn't throw in any out-of-place comedy. Don't get me wrong, I love shows like KinnPorsche or Joke & Joker too, but in this case, the serious tone really worked in its favor.

Production-wise, it's top-notch. The cinematography, color grading, set design, and sound? All impressive. It actually reminded me of Jack & Joker in terms of visuals and quality.

Now, if you're in it purely for the romance, you might feel a little let down. The love story between Sun and Peace doesn't really develop until around episode 8. It's more of a subplot, but I liked how their bond grew naturally-even though it felt almost impossible in the violent world they lived in. There wasn't a lot of warmth or typical couple moments between them, but I guess that was intentional, considering the darker tone of the story.

If you're after for a full-on BL romance, this might not be your thing. But for me, I'm satisfied with how it wrapped up-even though the ending left us hanging. Hopefully, that means season 2 is on the way.

Honestly, this series was such a pleasant surprise for me. I really feel like it deserves way more hype than it's getting. The storyline is so good -fresh, engaging, emotional, and different from the usual clichés we see these days. It's easily one of my favorite Thai BLs now. The actors did such an amazing job bringing their characters to life, and you can really feel their emotions.and you will like most of the bondings. The chemistry between the leads(sun and peace) is just perfect - natural and heartwarming without being over the top. And can we talk about the fight scenes? So well done and exciting to watch! What I love the most is that the story actually focuses on the plot and characters instead of relying too much on unnecessary NC scenes, which is so refreshing to see nowadays. If you're looking for a BL with a meaningful story, great performances, and beautiful moments, please give this one a chance - you won't regret it. Really hoping we get a season 2 because I already miss these characters!

This is the first time since Not Me and KinnPorsche that my Action neuron is generally satisfied.

I love how the suspense is building up and the fact that the actors are acting impeccably and very passionately.

It is so real that one might mistake it for a documentary instead of a fiction.

The fact that the series is not sexually-based(they don't need to add sex to an episode to make it interesting) and the fact that when we did see a sex scene, it was so exciting with the scenes often disrupted by the chaos of the outside world, the greed and deceptions of other parties; the purpose of the NC scene was met.

Above all a very great plot, act execution and editing.

This is my first time writing a review, it's just so good that I can't stop recommending it to everyone, it's sad that the series is so underrated The acting and the story+ the action scenes are so good. The chemistry between the couple is so beautiful, if you haven't watched it yet you are missing a masterpiece 😔 I hope everyone will support the series and the actors, just because they are not famous nobody know about the series and we don't get these types of series. The story is so fresh, not a single cringe scene and not a second wasted, at first it looks boring but trust me it gets so much better. Highly recommended 😩

From the very first scene to the very last I was completely hooked on this BL series. It had everything I could ever hope for in a good BL. While the main plot may not be romance, the romance still plays a huge part in the story. The relationship between Sun and Peace is like a forbidden love- a Romeo & Juliet type of love. The chemistry was off the charts and the NC scene was HOT to say the least. The action, the fighting- it was amazing. The fight scenes were filmed so well and every episode had me gasping. It was a truly shocking and gripping series. I'm so excited to see season 2, hoping the best for my favs Sun and Peace. Please watch it, it was a 10/10 for me.
