The Girl Who Survived: The Alina Thompson Story

Words should file a restraining order against this screenwriter. The dialogue is more unnatural than VHS p@rn dubbed in a basement, and the result is unwatchable-cruelly so, given it's based on real events. Put simply: if movies could be war crimes, this one would be prosecuted at The Hague.

Yes,it's based on a true story & the real Alina plus her daughter been talking about it premiering,on Instagram with cast members.. She comes across attention seeking & so forth,so this might of biased my viewing.

Just found this movie average no fault of Alina but felt Lifetime as usual doesn't do these type stories justice,also how much was truth over fabrication/dramatic purposes.

Other problem was clichéd & you just didn't care about anyone,when it was a story that you should.. Let me rephrase that I did find interest in a side character Tracy & her mom,but wasn't enough overall to save things.

I mean Alina was being sneaky modeling initially,why? Story misrepresentation.

This happened in the 1980's why did it now,suddenly come about..?

Don't feel the vibe or nostalgia this era was came across,did Lifetime not actually look up facts? Might of conveyed things better.

Lifetime made it seem she survived a shoot gone wrong,not just off"pure"luck.. Also was her story most compelling versus others or those,who family/friends actually lost someone? The ending felt rushed or incomplete,got no satisfaction of seeing the arrest or anything either.

Not one will rewatch hopefully future stories,on real events are better presented.

The movie was about great depiction of a true life tragedy! The actors were all so amazing and Steve Byers played William Bradford so well! This movie is a must see for sure, what that predator did to so many young hopefuls is going on today online so much more! If you want to be a model you can't go alone with ANY so called photographer!!! Chills me to the bone!

"The Girl Who Survived: The Alina Thompson Story" is a powerful cautionary tale. With compelling performances by Brielle Robillard as Alina Thompson and Steve Byers as William Bradford, the movie draws you in right from the start.

Robillard is on point in her portrayal of the young teenage girl who, as most girls her age, is focused on friends, boys, and the pursuit of dreams. Byers's character captivates you as he slyly charms young women with sweet flattery while he lures them away from safety . Once he has them alone, his demeanor changes and his heinous intentions show vividly on Byers's face.

In addition to the beautifully executed realization of the script, the story is one that, as a mother of 6, I'm very glad to see is being told. Without being nightmare-inducing, this real-life account of a girl who was stalked by, but escaped from, a serial killer is told in a way which I believe will hopefully serve as a warning, especially teens and young women, of hidden dangers which may be lurking in unsuspected places.

Steve Byers does a great job of portraying how evil this serial killer is. The show is great particularly in showing how tricky evil people can be. Hopefully young women & men will recognize the love Alina's father had and respond better to them when they are trying to protect them. The actress portraying Alina does a fabulous job as well.
