The Assassin is slick, fast-paced fun, perfect for killing time until Slow Horses or Reacher return. Shalom Brune-Franklin carries the show, while Keeley Hawes' underexplored, terrible mother role and her annoyingly whiny son add frustration. Some of the constant bickering drags on and gets annoying, but overall it's an easy enjoyable watch.

Review: "War of the Worlds Revival"
This revival is a total mess. The plot has more holes than Swiss cheese, making it hard to follow what's actually going on. It feels like they forgot to tell a proper story and instead focused on cramming in product placements honestly, it plays like a 90-minute ad for Microsoft and Meta. From random jargon that I don't think the characters had ever said before to multiple references to Teams calls, Whattsapp and Facebook it's clear where the budget came from. The characters are paper-thin, and by the end, you're left wondering if anyone actually asked why are we doing this Movie A sci-fi classic deserved better than this confused, corporate cash-in, I understand why some of the actors signed up, either they are starting out or they're at the end of their careers but what on earth convinced Ice Cube and Eva Longoria to get involved? I hope they didn't for a payday and not because they read the script and thought it was great.

28 Years Later has its moments but doesn't quite hit the mark. The story is disjointed, jumping around in a way that makes it hard to follow, and there are plenty of plot holes that leave you scratching your head. That said, Jodie Comer is excellent and brings real depth to her role. It's also a nice change to hear North East accents in a big film. The scenery is stunning and gives the film a strong atmosphere, though if you know the area, you'll notice they've taken some poetic licence with locations. Overall, it's an interesting watch, but not without its flaws.
