Misery (1990) is a psychological horror thriller movie based on the Stephen King novel of the same name and it was directed by Rob Reiner, who previously directed Stand by Me (1986) which was also based on a Stephen King novel and this movie is just as phenomenal as that movie.
Positives for Misery (1990): Kathy Bates as Annie Wilkes is one of the best horror movie villains in the history of cinema and it wasn't surprising to me why she won the Oscar for Best Actress. When you first meet Annie Wilkes in the beginning, she acts like a nice caring person, but then you find out that she is freaking insane and you need to be on her good side because she isn't a nice person when she gets angry. When you get the scene where she breaks Paul Sheldon's legs with sledgehammer, it is too painful to watch and she remains calm during that scene and it makes even crazier. Then, you have James Caan as Paul Sheldon who is also fantastic and it pains me that he didn't get a nomination for Best Actor. This man is someone who is just a normal man who also wrote a good book and you want to see him get away from Wilkes, but he is also smart about his plan and tries to stay on Annie Wilkes' good side long enough to take advantage of het and gain his freedom from her. I really enjoyed the interactions between James Caan and Kathy Bates as they are being friendly to one another, while also dong their best to keep calm and not lose it in front of the other person. You have other side characters in the story and they're great when the plot needs them to do things, but the movie is more interested in the two leads. I will also say that the atmosphere of this movie is really good and Rob Reiner does a great job at building up the tension during certain scenes. I also say that the editing in this movie is phenomenal and it comes to great use when you have James Caan trying to escape or when Kathy Bates is trying to hide him from the police officer coming for a visit at her home. And finally, the finale with James Caan burning the final page of his unfinished novel to take down Kathy Bates and winning his freedom so smart and phenomenal.
Overall, Misery (1990) is yet another phenomenal movie from Rob Reiner as he continued to prove why he was one of the best working filmmakers during the start of his career. If you love Stephen King and his work, then you absolutely need to watch this movie if you haven't done that already.

The Paper (2025-) is a sequel series and spin-off to The Office (2005-2013) from the same team and it follows a new group of characters working in an office building. I just got done watching Season 1 and it was good, but there are some major flaws.
Positives for The Paper (2025-): I will give credit to Greg Daniels and Michael Koman for trying to recapture with the magic of The Office with a new set of characters. I like how this group of characters are more normal than the cast of the original and that was the right decision to do with this new series. The humor is fairly good with these characters. The standout of the cast was easily Domhnall Gleeson as this guy who is exciting to work at the newspaper company. And finally, I can see the show getting better with Season 2 announced before Season 1 even aired episodes on Peacock.
Negatives for The Paper (2025-): This show is the light version of The Office (2005-2013). The characters are fine enough with who they are as people, but they aren't great characters. The humor isn't nearly as good here and a lot of it is really awkward to watch. There are major conflicts set up in these 10 episode and they are resolving in the most anticlimactic ways imaginable. And finally, the show is just very basic with the execution and it feels so bizarre and weird.
Overall, The Paper (2025-) is a good enough continuation of The Office (2005-2013) with some improvements needed for Season 2.

When Harry Met Sally... (1989) is a romantic comedy movie directed by Rob Reiner and it tells the story of a man and a woman who are best friends and are afraid that having sex with each other will ruin their friendship. This movie was a first time watch for me and it was awesome.
Positives for When Harry Met Sally... (1989): Similar to hai previous movies, I love how smart Rob Reiner is with his direction to the story of this movie and he makes it interesting to watch despite not being complex. You have two great leads in Billy Crystal as Harry Burns and Meg Ryan as Sally Albright who are phenomenal as these two people trying to move on with their lives after breaking up and are constantly pulled back into each other's lives regardless of what they say or do. You also have a fantastic supporting cast of characters played by Carrie Fisher, Bruno Kirby, Steven Ford, Lisa Jane Persky, Michelle Nicastro, Kevin Rooney, Harley Kozak and Estelle Reiner, who have some great interactions with our two main characters. The movie is very funny and you have scenes and lines of dialogue that are constantly being referred to this day. The movie keeps its story simple with the setup and runtime while having subplots that help elevate the main story. I really enjoyed the "Will they? Won't they?" journey with the two leads and just when you think it's going to annoy you, the movie does something to keep you invested and wanting more from the story. And finally, the final conversation between Harry and Sally is hilariously cheesy and corny, but it still feels realistic because of the performance from Crystal and Ryan as they finally get back together in the end.
Overall, When Harry Met Sally... (1989) is another phenomenal movie from Rob Reiner and one of the best romantic comedy movies I've seen in a while. Of you haven't watched this movie yet, then you need to do yourself a favor and watch it.
