The long awaited follow-up to Tron: Legacy from 2010; Tron: Ares.
15 years later and it's a miracle this movie even exists since Tron: Legacy didn't do amazingly in terms of making money. Basically became a cult classic instead.
Anyway; this film had a lot to live up to, and I'd say not to set your expectations as high as Tron: Legacy. While it does improve on the VFX greatly over the previous film, it doesn't quite go as far as capturing lightning in a bottle.
Largely this is a sequel to the original 1982, but it doesn't ignore Tron: Legacy.
The music, while not Daft Punk, was the best possible it could have been from Nine Inch Nails.
The story and characters were fairly decent, but I think this is mostly a fun movie with plenty of action sequences.
A 7/10 for me. Maybe some day this will have a similar cult following as the 1982 original, and 2010's Tron: Legacy? Only time will tell.
If you do want to see this, I'd recommend checking it out while it's still in the cinema because it does benefit for being a big screen experience.

If you miss the days of going to the cinema to go watch a Marvel film that has great, fleshed out characters and understand their motives (good guys and bad guys), as well as brilliant action sequences and visual effects, look no further than Sonic the Hedgehog 3!
I've watched the Sonic films (and the "Knuckles" miniseries) back-to-back, and this movie is by far the best entry. But not only that, it has also surprised me quite a lot!
As mentioned above; the characters are developed really well, and you understand their motives. And the action sequences are really good too.
I honestly just can't praise this film enough, it's exceeded all my expectations.
This is coming from a 27 year old who has never played the games, but still enjoyed a movie that was realistically; made for kids... Do kid's films get any better than this? It's going to be hard to beat it!
