Calling the Guinness family 'Irish' is like calling Prince William 'Welsh' but it is fun to watch !

Hilda Fay as 'Sultan' was as close to an actual Irish human as the drama managed, although Michael McElhatton's character was gas too. Less 'Downton' and deferential than an English butler.

The producer is English and perhaps that's why he thinks so many Irish people wore 'Green' or was that something for the US audience? The idea that a catholic would go to a protestant ceremony in those days shows a total lack of understanding. Former protestant President Douglas Hyde died in 1949 and the catholic government stayed outside the building, not crossing the threshold.

In fairness the soundtrack did include Irish performers but shocking few female voices, like in the script. I hope Ms Kirwan will get to spread her wings next Season. Her talents were woefully under utilised.

This show will likely cause more lemmings to visit the 'Storehouse' where they keep pictures on a wall.
