The production value appears to be average and the acting isn't bad, but the writing seems geared toward fantasy and fairy tale and not so much down-to-earth and endearing. I know it becomes more endearing toward the end, but it lacks sincerity. The story trades the usual lively romance for silly comedy and it falls flat for me.
I never particularly enjoyed fairy tale holiday films that incorporate imbecilic behavior. The main character is abnormally strange for a career-driven woman, and the writer is taking liberties with her personality, which is a bit of a cop out. Just because it's like a fever dream or a vision, or coma induced cheesy movie, whatever you may call it, doesn't mean everyone has to be a bunch of jackasses.

This fits into the realm of "if you seen one, you've seen them all". It's a very generic holiday romance, but it's still better than the really bad ones. I liked it enough to say it's average, which says a lot, because an average movie is an accomplishment in the industry. Let's face it, there are probably a million terrible movies that never made it to the screen.
'A Vineyard Christmas' is the usual story of a reporter from the big city who goes to a town to cover a story. In this case, it's a story about a vineyard and their holiday festival. She happens to have grown up in the same town where it the story happens (imagine that).
Now that we have whittled down the plot and other aspects as being average, let's talk about the acting, dialogue and chemistry. I feel like the chemistry wasn't bad. The story revolves more around the romance than many of these types of films and I think it was pretty smooth and endearing at times. I feel the lead female was very upbeat and that's a bonus. The lead male we've seen in this or that family movies and he's okay.
