Not a bad "sequel", it is very difficult to follow "Black Phone 1" with anything that would rival that movie as a sequel, but they managed to pull it off, by making a prequel and a sequel in one film, I will not give anything away, but you will be able to figure it out. Ethan Hawke is an awesome actor, but a total screwup as a real person, loved him in his first debut in "Explorers" in 1985 which catapulted him into stardom very early. He delivers well in this helping and is quite terrifying to boot and his mask is one of the best designs in horror, the story, however supernatural and quite evil, is done well. The acting is great as is all the characters. Nothing questionable, no nudity, some gore, so may not be for the squeamish, no foul language. Overall was an enjoyable watch and would see it again. Enjoy!
Set in a WW2 Philippines POW camp run by an honor bound Japanese master (Peter Shinkoda) Lt. Col. Ito. Who enjoys a fighting in the ring entertainment using his talented guards and fighters against the motley group of prisoners he is charge over until a new prisoner James Wright (Scott Adkins) is brought in after bailing out of his damaged aircraft over the ocean. He brings a new twist to Ito's challenges and Ito's honor is questioned. A great story of endurance, determination, hope of escape and even a redemption bit at the end. Good story, fights are excellent as usual with most any Adkins flick. Solid entertainment with no questionable content, no nudity, or any foul language. Good family movie with a bit of violence, but not graphic. Enjoy!
Michael J. White leads as Pete a top of his class "fixer" (hitman) who has been tagged by someone into being a snitch to his boss Matteo Acardo (John Littlefield) but things are not as they seem, A lot of tally points are compared as to who is the badass hitman in town as a very interesting group of hitmen and women all attempt to bring him in to his boss for questioning. The reward for his capture however is rather low considering his value which sets the stage for the twist. Good action, fights, a bit of gore, no nudity or questionable garbage, sme foul language but not over the top. Michael is a bit heavier (gained some weight) in this one and not as trim as in "Blood and Bone" (2009) but that was a few years ago. Still great and a good watch!. Enjoy!
