A House of Dynamite was directed by Kathryn Bigelow, the mind behind Zero Dark Thirty and Detroit. Unlike the latter two movies, however, the former fails to deliver.

What another review calls a "flower narrative style" is not one of the ways that I care for a story to be told in film, but I do acknowledge that it has become somewhat fashionable in recent years. Additionally, the ending of the picture was as abrupt as it was deeply unsatisfying. I will not encourage anyone to watch it.

Hollyweird strikes again! Conclave is a massive disappointment. Although it is a feast for the eyes, being well shot and well directed, and featuring as it does some awesome set design and costuming, the story is hilariously boring to the point that I fell asleep a few times in the first 45 minutes or so. Also, the plot twist at the end doesn't really add much other than a crowd of politically-correct types are telling us the stories they want to tell, not the stories we want to hear, and they're charging us for the "privilege" of having to suffer through their conceits. I'd give Conclave a pass if I were you.

While I'm no DJT devotee, this movie just isn't that good, sadly. It was great to see Roy Cohn exposed for who he was -- and I'm confident there's a whole generation of younger people who are completely unfamiliar with that charming chap -- but the rest of the film just felt a bit flat.

Fred Trump was, I gather, far less charming or nurturing than this picture would suggest. As he's not meant to be the focus, however, the failure to show him as the brute that he was is both understandable and forgiveable.

Similarly, Ivanka is portrayed in a sympathetic light when I gather that she wasn't a charmer.

Anyway, I dozed off for 15-20 minutes while watching this. Make of that what you will. I'd pass on this movie unless you strongly dislike DJT.
