I dont think i could count this in the same universe as that thing Arnie was fighting in the Latin American jungles. This is a CGI comedy. One dry CGI video game. The predator had no sweat, no slim, nothing. And he had a furry, cute friend LOL. And boy can they talk.

Prey was bad, like a teenage version of things and this just made prey look serious.

Nothing is a threat because everything looks like a video game.

They had some good working material, but not that original. The shocking thing is how they decided to work with it and end the film. Clearly, the snuck this ending by the studios and creative staff because in which universe was that ever going to work?

The DP work was good up until the CGI (see my article on how to ruin a film with CGI).

People complained about the ending of Abyss well, you will not complain about Abyss ever again, this thing went from horror to love fantasy. ET has nothing on this. She really went home.

What a wasted opportunity.

Beat for beat it cues off the first one and does everything worse. I mean, everything in the start of the movie is mirrored to the old.

It is a sign of the death of creativity. Nothing could beat that original score. The CGI is horrendous and the Denzel plotting is not realistic and hence feels forced. You keep asking yourself why did they do that. And you have to forget the nonsense to get to the end.

If there was no part 1 it would be okay. But the only way to enjoy it is to forget the first.
