Someone wrote the exact thing that I have in mind "this movie makes National Treasure look like Citizen Kane".

This is the most cliche & soulless movie that you can find with a very promising initial content & good actors. I seriously dont believe that any human being with emotions & cognitive capacity can write that much shallow, illogical, soulless & embarassingly cliche script. So yes, as of 2025 AI has taken over movie industry. Unfortunately this leaves us movie-lovers extremly empty handed with nothing to watch anymore.

It seems streaming platforms and their endless series took over all the industry and if you're lucky enough to find a fine new serie, you should stick with it from now on!

Ok now, as of 2025 I have long gave up seeing a decent movie, good characters, nice acting etc.. but this? Unfortunately after John Wick we see repeatedly same brutal fights, gore, mindless violence etc. Etc. In movies. This movie decreases the bar even more below, no characters, no back story, no story telling but more violence, more blood.. oh, and it even disguises itself as "comedy-action"!!

I am really bored of these mindless "action" flicks and I felt bad for Josh Hartnett - who I used to like before. But the real shocker for me in this movie is Katee Suckhoff - who was our beloved Starbuck once. She has turned into a kind of zombie. Yes I guess the zombie apocalyopse is upon us and it began with the movie industry..

.. because of crappy new version!

This movie was nowhere near cult classic for me - as growing up in 80s and having my youth in 90s - I know a lot of better classics. But back in the day, this was a fun movie with irreplaceable Jeff Healey and goofy characters.

But once the "new version" surfaced up, we had to run and rewatch this to understand what a classic it is - and also to mourn what life on this planet had turned into.... a show of imbeciles!

PS: Jake Gyllenhaal is better than I expected in the new version but still not the original Dalton. RIP Patrick!
