The story line is about a tragic fate of the mute . At the beginning, I am afraid it's too heavy for me. Fortunately, the director has a good sense to tell a sad story in a non-bitter and desiccating way. Plus, the visual art in the film is extremely nice and the landscape is so beautiful.
But I admit I can't hold my tears when seeing several scenes in which Han Chong confronts with the villagers to protect the mute and the mute's begging for Han Chong's father. Three main characters are distinct, and their performance is natural. Particularly Lang's facial expression is subtle and convincing! I'm so impressed!
