What started out being a cliché series about lying to ones parents about bringing home a boyfriend for the holidays...ended up being anything but cliché. I was set to give this a ho-him rating but the series well and truly won me over.
I thought the lead actress was great. I loved some of the series' music and would love to get my hands on songs like "promise" by Faye Wildhagen, "stay with me" by Emma stienbakken, "me" by Emelie Hollow, "its Christmas after all" by SKAAR, and "under the tree" by Sam Pallido. In addition to the music, I also enjoyed seeing some of the Norwegian traditions celebrated. I even enjoyed the Danish reading at Christmas, seems like a nice tradition.
The heart of this series is a lesson about what is important in life, like honoring those who support you and love/except you for everything that you are. I loved that the final answer was so obvious to everyone else.
(Apparently the hidden lesson is that Swedish men really know how to treat a lady. ;-)
This was a delightful surprise and I highly recommend taking the time to watch it.
