The Deal is a dull day-time drama unfortunately and poorly executed, not an action thriller.
The cinematography's poor and the dialogue mundane, at times laughable. The enchanting Penelope Ann Miller from "Kindergarten Cop" and "Awakenings" many many many years on, isn't exactly great in the lead role, but fine. Henry Thomas, the boy from "E. T.," pretty awful. When Laura's husband comes back and he and Frank attack each other, that should be an indicator right there, that you shouldn't trust this guy. Not invite him inside the following scene. Dean Stockwell's in the film too, doing a bad accent. Some other poor acting in minor roles, the Mafia father/daughter were okay.
