An autobiographical story of Michel Legrand: maybe a very nostalgical vision of a bicycle ride in this moment of the Second World War: Michel has won the medal of the Paris Conservatoire on the same day as the the D-Day and now Michel and his mother want to go back to Saint-Lo in Normandy. In a café appears the sparkling Eva (later she tells them that her true name is Yvette) and then begins the tribulations of Michel, Marcelle and Yvette: they steal bicycles at the railway station: they will ride through the countryside: an agited trip (the bombing of the the hotel, the attack against a German, the arrest by Germans, the attack of a German convoy by the Allied) but also a sentimental trip for Michel and Yvette.
I enjoyed very much the performances of Matthieu Rozé, Sabine Azéma and Annie Girardot.
