Sean McIntyre and Steph Evison Williams in Addict

Trivia

Addict

Edit
Adapted from an original short story written by Sean McIntyre, 'Addict' is a different take on the topic of addiction. 'Addict' first appeared in 'The Turl Times' (Oxford University, UK April 2013).
The Loaded Dog Trilogy is comprised of a series of three short films. The three scripts are bound together by unique elements. Each offers a different take on reality and the perception of reality. As individuals, what is 'real' to us. What do people choose to see as 'real'. How do people make sense of their 'reality'. How do people interpret what they see around us in order to make sense of it. Each script also offers playful elements by proposing a big 'what if' scenario:
  • 'ADDICT' - what if someone was addicted to ideas.
  • 'THIS' - what if a writer could talk to their idea. What if the idea didn't want to be expressed as words on a page.
  • 'A KIND OF DESTINY' - what if JUDAS decided he didn't want to betray JESUS. What if JUDAS wanted to choose his own destiny.
Each film within the trilogy speaks to and touches upon uniquely universal themes that everyone experiences on some level at one point in their lives: disconnection, loneliness, self-expression, formation of personal identity, relationships and coming to grips with destiny vs personal choice.
ORIGIN adapted from 'Addict' by Sean McIntyre from his original work and original short story. Published: The Turl Times, Oxford Uni (UK) MAY 2013.
