Seven lives come together amid the stench of beer and tobacco smoke in an apartment block where single rooms are for rent and the bathroom is in the hall. Only friendship, mutual aid and a healthy sense of humor allow these men, scarred by self-destruction and addiction, to face the harsh reality of their lives.—Anonymous

'We're dropping like flies here and nobody gives a fuck!'. An apartment building on Montreal's Plateau is home to tenants of all ages living in welfare. Some keep their apartment spotless, while others let empty cans and other junk pile up. Their faces convey the hard knocks suffered in the past. Thought they aren't living in the street, they're trapped in a downward spiral of poverty and exclusion. Yet mutual support and humor help them confront their harsh realities and self-destructive behaviors.
