Colin's Address is shown as 596 Lenox Avenue. This was the address of Harlem's Savoy Ballroom. The Savoy Ballroom played a pivotal role in the development of swing dance and it came to be known as "the home of happy feet".

The main character Colin Manning shares his name with two legends of swing dance. Frankie Manning "the ambassador of Lindy Hop" and Dean Collin's who is credited for brining swing dance from New York to California.
