Festive nativity

On Angel Wings is Michael Morpurgo re-working the nativity story. It has an all star voice cast including Michael Gambon, Juliet Stevenson and Dominic Cooper.

A little shepherd boy Amos meets the Angel Gabriel and travels with him on a journey to Bethlehem to meet the newborn Jesus. Some years later, now a grandfather he recalls his experience to his grandchildren on Christmas night.

The story is a spirited retelling which modern and younger kids will enjoy during the Christmas holidays. However I get the feeling the budget went on the voice casting as the animation is rather so-so with even CGI turning up for the space scenes. It kind of makes it look messy and cheap which is a shame.
