Following the first broadcast of "The Harbinger" at 6:30pm-7:30pm on Sunday, 25th October 2015 the broadcaster ITV received 280 complaints from viewers regarding the amount and level of violent scenes in the show. The UK television regulator OFCOM received a further 263 complaints.

On January 5 2016 creator Charlie Higson confirmed that ITV had not commissioned a Season 2.
