Endearingly delightful, quirky and romantic. A very unique movie with memorable characters, wonderful script and charming cinematography.
Some of the jokes fell a little flat ( maybe a cultural thing? this is my first Thai movie) but everything else was beautifully directed and heartwarming.
If you're looking for something unconventional that can make you cringe one minute, laugh the next and leave you in tears. This is for you!!

This film was made in 2014 which made me wonder: is it good. Well one year later and three years passed and there were big bops like: Strong Woman Do Bong Soon (2017) and Murphy's Law Of Love (2015.)
Since Asian international shows were just developing and hitting it to the next level,I gave this one a chance. It all started when I was scrolling through Netflix to look for another good romantic comedy to watch. (Either show or movie,in any language. As long as it was funny and nice I would take it.)
So when I first clicked I was like okay wow let's see how good this is. The opening scene was exaggerated and silly. We first meet Ms. Pleng,a women who is bilingual and can speak both Thai and English. Her English is a little wacky with a hint of an accent in it. And then there's Yim, a man who can't communicate with his girlfriend Kaya who speaks two languages: Japanese and English. The only language they know is making love. She wants to break up with him because it's hard to talk to him and understand him.
Yim on the other hand is a man who is dead set on getting his girl back and reaches out to Ms. Pleng to teach him English so he can learn to communicate with Kaya and get back together with her. However, his learning with her is slow and it takes about a bit into the way in the film before he can get fluent.
I have to say though, this film was a bit cliche. Some elements were not really what I expected. If I wrote and filmed this I would want to add a little bit of more excitement and giggles and funny moments. There WAS chemistry between the characters, but not enough to make me go "aww!" Still though, there were some good moments that made me cry.
And of course we all do know that two main lead characters fall for each other. It's not until the end that they realize their feelings for each other though. And in the end, their is something that is left unclear (hint: it confirms the "ship") but I will let you figure out what was left unsaid. I think i got it but I won't spoil it.
Overall though, this was a great film to watch. I wouldn't say I recommend it to everyone in the universe but to enough people who would love it. Since this doesn't let me give a score out of five I will give the final film grade: 3.8/5.

Another adorable Thai Rom-com. Class acting, good comic timing, nice comforting feel after watching the movie, good production value.
Not to be restricted to Thai audience alone.

This film is a good comedy romance movie. Though the plot is simple it catches the audience and fills them with joy . The story is about a guy who wants to learn English to get back his girlfriend.

I saw this movie because of the high rating. Consequently I was quite disappointed. The comedy aspect of it failed I feel. The punchlines were sometimes predictable, acting was not terrible but it was not the best for delivering good comedy either, the timing was sometimes a little bit off which helped diminished the effect of the punch lines. Tutor Pleng tended to over act a little to over compensate the jokes. I feel that the timing of the punch lines should have been quicker so the audience can appreciate the jokes while they were in the moment rather than being made to wait for them. In summary I think the comedy aspect of the movie was a little green but the story line had some potential.
I usually watch the movie carefully, like observe how the actors/actresses act, story line, execution, cringe or awkward scene, but in this movie, I can't. This movie was really fun and enjoyable.
Both actors and actresses act very well, the story line is simple but really good. The vibes that brought by this film is well received. The comedy? Really I laugh and some part, and understand how cringe is it when you don't like person but he/she acts too romantic to us (boat scene).
Romance? It well sent by this film, about how the romance life of both main characters also romance life of secondary characters. It's really can called as romance movie.
Emotional? It's in so-so level. Not too emotional, but relate-able with daily life. It's a light story that no one need to think too heavy.
This film is good enough to get 9/10 from me:

For very simple to understand is "This is Thai movie in Thai language" So who can't understand Thai then do not expect yourself to laugh your ass off. I am Thai n there are many Thai's rom com movies made but this one are the funniest I have seen so far. Why is the high rating? Cause' Thai humor are differently base on culture, we mainly speak Thai as it's our mother language. Like I said, if you can't understand Thai then it's No one fault. The translating or subtitle are shite as it couldn't explain well enough for all the jokes n the funny part of the movie. There are some of Thai words can't translate direct to the other languages.
My advise is, if you want to laugh with Thai movies especially this one... go study Thai language. :)

This was really fun to watch back in the year when I was still having fun and enjoying life where everything was nice and exciting.
The moments were great and I will tell you that I had a hoot of a time watching this film.

I watch the Indonesian adaptation (Love You... Love You Not) before I got into this one. First of all, I would share my experience watching my first Thailand's romantic comedy movie, A Little Thing Called Love which is super funny. So, I can't help my self comparing this movie to the previous one I've watched. Of course I bet this movie would be much funnier than the adaptation. Somehow I think Thailand has a good skill in making a good horror and comedy movie. I will scare to death or laugh till my stomach hurts.
Well, I think I put my expectation way too high. And I'm sorry to say that I love the adaptation more than this one. Not because I'm from Indonesia my self. I think the female lead cast from Indonesia are prettier and can act better than the one from Thailand's and so with the male cast. The same goes with the Japanese woman role. The adaptation made a good decision to describe her as a hot woman, who always wears sexy outfit, which suits her craving for a great sex. While here, the Japanese woman didn't look sexy at all. She's more of a tomboy girl with a pretty face. However, I like the story of female lead cast's other crush, which I think is much more reasonable. Also the story of his family. One big difference with the adaptation, I didn't shed a tear at all.
