You got me.
I love these type of stories on tv that expose the activities of the paranormal. And this show is included. I know in the beginning it wasn't its best and obviously the people probably thought the cast and producers were a bit off, but you can tell they've gotten better and more comfortable with what they're doing. And it shows. I do wish they included a little more information or follow ups on smaller stories or any story really.
The critics are missing something
I liked the guy who happened to hear part of an episode then trashed the series. Also the guy who got hung up on a continuity error in one of the reenacted scenes. These who are people who "know" it's all fake going in.
I don't know that. I'm a writer. Watching people talk, listening, observing emotions. I honestly can't tell about this show. Frequently I believe I'm seeing real emotions. If it's acting it's better acting than 90% of horror movies. If it's scripted, the content is better than 95% of horror movies.
There is either truth or superior imagination put into the experiences people report on screen. A fireplace that deposits a pyramid of ash on the hearth? Outstanding. The sequences make sense, the reenactments reveal low budget approximate caring, but does this tell us anything?
How ingenious if it's fake to hire two sets of actors, one to do the historical narration, one to do the play acting. A better approximation of legitimate documentaries than all the tiresome found footage flicks that have destroyed the live camera genre.
I believe the paranormal exists. There is more anecdotal evidence of ghosts than there is of black holes or Alpha Centauri. Enough anecdotal evidence over a long enough period of time is tantamount to proof. A psychic who finds a missing boy lost for 24 hrs in just one hr based on a vision? Happened.
What's in this show MIGHT happened, more entertains than a long row of popular horror movies and more plausible. My two cents.

has gotten a lot better
The first season of this show had elements that made it seem like an amateurish production. Most of it was due to using ordinary people to do the re-enactments and some low budget ghost effects. Both, I would assume, were due to budget constraints. With season two, however, things have gotten better. They have been able to hire professional actors for the re-enactments, and the special effects have improved somewhat. I am surprised by the level of acting ability of the season two episodes. Of course, you know it's just acting (not the actual event), but it's just such an improvement over the stilted and unnatural performance of their season one cast. Some of those actors in season two are very good; I assume they are all Canadian, since the production company is in Canada. There is a large pool of fine under-used actors in Canada to choose from. Apparently, the production company of this show have taken advantage of that. I'm happy that a Canadian show seems to have been able to catch on with viewers. I live in Toronto. By the way, this show now has a narrator who sounds just like Anthony D. Call, the narrator that very long running American production called A Haunting.
One of the paranormal investigators uses the Ghost Radar app?!
Ridiculous. The only saving grace (barely) is the interview segments with the actual witnesses. Everything else is laughable. Same locations being used over and over for different stories, actors who don't even remotely resemble the actual people, cheesy sound effects, cheesy visual effects... pretty much par for the course. And where's the evidence that witnesses keep telling us about? We keep hearing about video / pics / EVPs but instead of the actual evidence all we get is corny overly dramatic recreations. The only real entertainment value is laughs.
Is it real stories ??
I mean can it actual happened. Am young and hadn't really travel into many places to know everything about life. Is it anybody in here have ever lived any kind of this energy/activity in your lives ?
Did you know
- TriviaA lot of the stories leave the viewer hanging. As in they have no resolution. They do not explain what happened in the end. Sometimes they say they moved. Sometimes they say they a paranormal investigator ran away in fright, and give no denouement whatsoever as to whether the person got rid of the entity or is still living with it.
