Joan Allen, Rupert Graves, Liam James, Alison Pill, and Zach Gilford in The Family (2016)

Trivia

The Family

Edit
Although the finale suggests that there should be another season, ABC cancelled the series.
Similar to this role, Joan Allen starred in the movie "Room" in which she played a woman whose daughter was abducted and held for seven years, only to then escape and return home.
There is some irony in the naming of the character Hank Asher, who was originally convicted of Adam's kidnapping. The real Hank Asher created data mining companies to compile information about people which was used both by private companies and law enforcement. Hank Asher donated his data mining services to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. He was the largest private donor in its history.
Both Joan Allen and Liam James worked on the television series The Killing (2011). James appeared in all four seasons while Allen joined the cast for the final season.
While on a stakeout to see where Adam goes at night, Agent Clements offers Detective Meyer a Red Vine, which is a brand name of licorice. What he actually has are Twizzlers, a separate brand of licorice.
