Please ignore all the good reviews about this piece of trash! The reason why I just created my account with IMDb was to give this friendly and honest advise! Do not watch this crap! I really can't understand the positive rates! They all must be from relatives of the actors or something like that.... or people are just really stupid..
Stumbled upon this on Amazon and thought it was a fun, campy movie. Both female leads - especially the one who played the daughter - did a good job. The five sons were all cool, though the oldest looked a littttle old for being in high school. I couldn't decide if the non-twin blonde brother was a cutie or a creepy - actually he probably played the roll perfectly.
What I also liked is that I could watch this with my teenager without worrying about covering her eyes (or her trying to cover my eyes). Is this Citizen Kane? No. Is this a fun, scary movie for this time of the year (October)? Sure!

I was under the impression that I was sitting down to watch a horror movie, as I sat down here in 2025 to watch the 2016 movie "HoneyBee" from writer and director Nicki Harris. Little did I know that I was in for something that felt like something you would get if you ordered "Twilight" off of Wish.
The narrative in the movie was insanely slow paced and pointless. You have to sit through about 50 minutes before something happens, and it wasn't great, mind you, and the movie runs at a mere 96 minutes, so halfway through before anything happened just simply didn't cut it.
I was not familiar with a single actress or actor on the cast list. Most of the acting performances were fair, but nothing outstanding really.
Visually, then you're not in for anything grand, should you opt to watch "HoneyBee". It was not a movie that really made use of special effects.
I cannot find a single reason for why you should or would sit down to watch "HoneyBee". And believe you me, I am never returning to watch it a second time, as it was a brutally boring experience the first time around.
My rating of writer and director Nicki Harris's 2016 movie "HoneyBee" lands on a three out of ten stars.

I just gave Pet a 6; it was a great movie- an easy 8- well made production, brilliantly acted, filmed etc. Progressive plot line and script but a last "scene" that was sooo predicable for a thriller and out of context with the plot, that it gets the same rating as this, 6. In Honeybee, 90% of the acting sucked, nearly 1/2 the scenes were poorly lit or over lit, obviously not enough of a budget to refilm slightly flubbed scenes. But altogether I found it cohesive and entertaining. It too had the predictable last scene for a B thriller, but it fit perfectly. So enjoy this 6! PS, the starring characters pulled off there parts well.
I had a blast watching this especially because I know the area it was filmed and I loved how gorgeous everything looked and could tell they filmed in June which is the month the story takes place in so the crazy weather was fitting. I thought the acting was good and the chemistry between the red haired son and the girl Hilary was SO believable I wonder if they were actually together. I also liked the relationship of the girl Hilary with her Dad and how it wasn't stereotypical like other movies where they fight all the time. While I do have some questions and I took a point away because I really wanted a bit more goriness I have it all figured out and am wondering why the other reviewers didn't... My 9 year old figured it out so .. Just saying. For us this was fun and I would watch again.
