The Fourth Estate (2015)

Trivia

The Fourth Estate

Edit
The film was made on a zero-budget, the only money spent being the filmmakers' own for travel to interviews and a subscription to online editing software.
The film premiered at Birkbeck College in London in April 2015, to coincide with the Media Reform Coalition's push for media reform ahead of that year's UK general election.
Post-production began on a 2006 Macbook - considered 'vintage' at the time. Once the rough cut became close to full length, the video would have to be left to render overnight. It was a year into the production before a higher-spec laptop was borrowed to complete the edit.
All interviewees agreed to participate in the film without fee.
The filmmakers want the film to be seen by anyone, for free, not only to have the work seen but to promote the freedom of information and transparency of media that the film promotes. For this reason, the film is free to view online, and viewers are free to download and distribute it.
