Ashleigh Ball (Talia), Tabitha St. Germain (Auriana), and Kelly Sheridan (Praxina) have all done voice acting on My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic (2010) as Rainbow Dash (Ashleigh), Rarity (Tabitha), and Starlight Glimmer (Kelly) respectively.
The LoliRock often sound like they have New York accents when singing, but they have normal American accents when speaking.
Of the five main princesses, Auriana is the only one to not have a natural human hair color while on Earth, as her hair is cherry red (as opposed to Iris' blonde, Talia's dark brown, Lyna's jet black, and Carissa's dark orange). But when they're transformed, this fact is reversed, as Auriana's hair changes to light orange, which is a natural human hair color, (while Iris' hair turns pink, Talia's light blue, Lyna's light green, and Carissa's purple which are all unnatural hair colors)
A few of the characters' designs were based on real people. Iris' looks were inspired by Taylor Momsen, particularly her long blonde hair and pink-and-black color scheme. Talia, ethnically ambiguous, was inspired by French fashion blogger Betty Autier (hair and outfits), and African-American actress Amber Stevens West, as well as various brown women of different ethnicities. Auriana was obviously inspired by Ariana Grande, right down to the bubbly personality, long ponytail, and similar name, her cat-like features and boy-crazy personality are a nod to Ariana's character Cat Valentine on the Nickelodeon series Victorious (2010).
Despite their name, LoliRock do not perform rock music. Their music is actually electronic pop. But the members do use crystals in their magical state, which are a type of rock (mineral).
