Paul Whitehouse played eight different characters in the various episodes. These included Graham, a grossly overweight man, which required him to wear a fat suit, and prosthetic arms and face; and Maurice, an elderly man, which required him to wear a prosthetic face which left only his eyes and eyelids exposed.
This TV series was based on a BBC Radio 4 series of the same name, with the same cast, writers and producers.
