I ended up watching all of it and I sorta liked it.
Yes, very bad production value, but that made it kinda endearing. It's in no way shape or form horror. Nobody will be frightened by watching this. It's more in the line of Creepshow or Tales from the Crypt, but more amateur.

Ok this is low budget, bad acting and crap effects. But it's also fun. It's similar to Creepshow or Trilogy of Terror. I kept watching in spite of myself, so there's something to be said for that.
Although the acting is kind of subpar, the effects look cheap as heck, and the "demon hunter" WAY overacts his part, I was still entertained by the first four episodes. But where is the 5th episode? I can't find it anywhere. Which means that I can't find out who the demon is. Will I lose sleep over this? Hardly. But if I choose to watch a series, I'd like to see it to its conclusion.
So does anyone know where to watch the 5th episode?

I can't believe all the 9s and 10s this has scored, must have been reviewed by 10 year olds or relatives of the cast. The acting is truly awful, the dialogue is cringeworthy and the stories so predictable. The main character is such a walking cliché, Clint Eastwood meets Harry Dresden, with a bad wig and worse dialogue. There is very little original about any of this, from the characters to the stories. I really can't say how stunned I am at the positive reviews. Worth watching, if only for a lesson in how not to make a horror anthology.

I thought I'd give it a go, though suspicious that out of 22 votes it had a higher score that even really high quality stuff doesn't get; usually a sign of people involved in production upvoting.
I'm only going on the first episode because I sat through it just to be fair, even though the acting was terrible and the plot a re-hash of so many stories like it. Nothing original and so tedious I wouldn't watch the rest.
Watch if you like bad actors playing out predictable stories.

On top of badly written dialog, the acting isn't even worthy of community theater am-dram... Do yourself a big favor, and give it a miss.
Oh this is very bad. Seriously bad. Better to skip it. Bad acting, bad writing, bad Direction, Bad costumes. It's horror all right, watching it is a horrible experience. Obviously the 6 and up ratings are all fixed probably done by persons working with the production company, who knows. I've seen better fanfilms on the internet. Move along folks nothing to see here.

Found this series streaming for free on Tubi and watched the whole thing in one go. At first I was a bit thrown by the budget but quickly go into it. It reminds me of older television horror anthology shows: Creepshow, Tales From The Darkside, Nightmare Cafe, Monsters, etc. Like those shows, it isn't exactly scary, but there is a great story with a satisfying twist in each episode. The framing device for the anthology is cool and could be used again and again for future seasons. But don't worry- this first season tells a complete story so you won't be stuck with a cliffhanger ending that may never get resolved.
From the stories to the acting to the direction, this one far exceeds so many other shows and movies with lower budgets. By the end I really grew to like the characters. If you like the sort of cheesy horror anthology shows of the 80s and 90s, give this one a try! I loved it!

Yes, everyone; it's low budget. But why is that a bad thing? Lower your Hollywood expectations and appreciation the passion behind the production of something like this. It's a five part anthology series inspired by The Twilight Zone with stories that are engrossing and spooky- each using a different sector of the paranormal, helping to keep the saga fresh. There's witchcraft, home invasion, mental hospitals and love potions; making The Hunter's Anthology accessible to a wide variety of viewers whether you're into mystery, horror or science fiction.
How is 80/s tv shows better than year 2024? I don't under stand what happened to tv and movies shows! They all suck now including this pile of poop. Ghost writer is scarier than this show. This show look like it was produced by highschool drama class the acting is terrible!!!!!!! I do not recommended this to anyone. Why is all movie and tv show bad nowadays? It's like an illusion that you have all these shows to pick from, but they are all terrible productions. I rather just watCh movies and tv shows from 1930 up until 2014 because last 10 years have been terrible. If you like terfible acting and cheezy costume you will like this doo doo.

I have to say right off the bat, this Is one of the better indie film anthologies that I have seen. The music was freaking awesome. No spoilers, but there is a post credits scene with an amazing score and I got chills! Rarely happens to me. I absolutely love how the anthology starts, then each episode takes us through the characters on the train. I found it very intriguing and kept my attention. I also think the cinematography did its job for this and painted a 'Constantine'-esq feel. The lead was believable and that is a tough thing to nail, the almost cowboy, smug character that also needs to be likable. Overall, had a great time with this and would recommend!

Everything about this show is terrible...the writing, the actors the set, and the plot. I'm pretty sure this started as a HS project. How the hell this got greenlit for a series is beyond me.

This show is one of the worst shows and acting I've ever seen! Wow. I couldn't believe how bad this was and that it even made it to the end of production. Cheesiest acting, horrible special effects ( if that's what you would even call it.) I don't know why this is even called an anthology. If you are super bored, have another else to watch and want to be entertained of watching a low budget, nad acting, suckiest sfx's kind of show, then go ahead and watch it. You will be laughing more than anything. I know I wasted my time even on the 1st episode. Now, that being said, DON'T WASTE YOHRTIME!!!!

Acting is a little off, didn't recognize the actors and usually has me switching channels however, I was really impressed with the stories. Supernatural, otherworldly, great stuff!. 10 for this one.

This series is an homage to all of the old horror TV anthologies we all loved as a kid. Has a comic book feel to it, and it's cheesy in the best possible way. I enjoyed it for it's retro take on the genre.
The reviews here are hilarious. Those who got into the story loved it. Those who couldn't see past the indie-level production did not. I, for one, thought it was great. The story was captivating and showed a great creative mind. The performances were full bought in and seemed to elevate each episode as it went. If you start it, you won't want to stop until you know how it turns out. And if you come with an open mind, you won't regret it!
Once you accept the fact that this has obviously been developed on a shoestring budget and thus will not have the same production quality as a Hollywood blockbuster (far from it), and lower your expectations accordingly, then this is actually a pretty fun experience.
The entire series is only a little more than two hours total so you can watch it in one sitting. And again, please lower your expectations. This is super low budget. But the story is actually fun and entertaining and I loved the creative elements.
I did have a hard time accepting some of the fantasy elements, and as others said in the reviews, the dialog and acting were a little off.
With all that said, the series did keep my attention and I wanted to see what would happen by the end, so I kept watching. And some of the low budget elements were actually endearing and funny in their own right.
All in all, I give it a 7 out of 10 for effort, creativity, fun and keeping my interest throughout the series.

At first glance, I thought I was watching Crocodile Dundee or Indiana Jones in New York. But it's actually a kind of Constantin in the look of Dundee or Indy. For an indie series, I have to admit it's very well done! The setting is well chosen, a subway in which all the characters are trapped. The story is well told, I for one wanted to see who this demon was. The actors play their roles quite well, the mysterious Hunter is cool as Snake from Escape New York. The camera/images are well done. The music could be a bit better, but it's not that bad. For lovers of independent films or series it is highly recommended!

I really liked the series. The stories we fun and surprising. I did jump out of seat a few times. Watched it with the lights out which made it even more fun. Did not see the twists. Watched it all in one night. Hoping we get to find out more about Mac, who plays the Demon Hunter. I am sure he has a story, Maybe that will come out next season.
I wasn't quite sure what to expect when I started watching this there opinions here are mixed. I did go in with an open mind and I have to say I really wasn't disappointed. I don't get why there are haters out there. I actually enjoyed watching it. I missed it when it was free on amazon but noticed it's free on TubiTv., so I spent the weekend watching. Here is what I think...
Okay, yes, it doesn't have a big budget but true indie projects don't. I like to see filmmakers try. The Locations were cool and impressive. If you live in NYC you know how hard it is to find a subway set. That in itself impressed the hell out of me. Would love to know how they pulled that off.
The Cast was great too... I could be wrong, but I do think it was meant to be a but tongue and cheek...somewhat retro of shows from the 70s i recently started watching. I enjoyed watching is all I can say. I would stay do give it a go...but watch past the first episode..as that sets it all up . I hope there is another season. Would love to know more about the character of MAC.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I sat down to watch this...the reviews have been mixed which always perks my curiosity. Some say curiosity killed the cat. Well, Not for me. I really did enjoy watching it. I certainly don't agree with some of the negative reviews here. I think these people need to chill a bit and just enjoy stepping away from the hell that is our lives right now. This was a fun escape for me. I did think the cast was great. It's always nice to be able to see a diverse cast. Acting was fun, it was obvious to me that this series wasn't taking itself seriously but rather a bit tongue and cheek and just fun. The cinematography was also spot on. I really like how each episode was unique with the way it was shot, the lighting and style showed a lot of creativity, Kudos to the team. Yes, it's not crazy scary or gory, but it has a few jumps which was more than enough for me. It's obvious that it wasn't big budget...but not everything needs to be. I can go on but I will just say give it a watch...you'll need to go past the first episode because everything is being set up...hope there is another season...i want to know more about Mac.

As someone who is always on the lookout for stuff away from the mainstream I really enjoyed Ep 1 of The Hunters Anthology,
As a Brit I could feel a touch of 'classic western' in the writing and performance - particularly of the lead, who was excellent. Also put in mind of some of the 80's VHS horror anthologies I used to love as a kid!
I'll be certain to carry on with the series and look forward to seeing where it takes us! I am guessing from other reviews that the series will introduce us to all the other protagonists on the subway train in Episode 1. Can't wait!
Great work all round. Go indie film!!

The director achieved a great project with exciting camera work, compelling characters, and an intense atmosphere.
The story flows perfectly and keeps you attentive from beginning to end.
The way they introduce us to New York City and the characters is very original and different from what I've seen in other projects.
I will continue to watch more episodes of this series.
I highly recommend it!

I enjoyed every second of it. Even though it's a low budget series, but everything works - story, all the twits, acting. I would defiantly highly recommend!
