A Hidden Gem with Heart
Lost & Found in Cleveland is the kind of movie we don't get enough of anymore - funny, tender, and deeply human. Every storyline feels like a little treasure, and the ensemble cast (June Squibb, Martin Sheen, Dennis Haysbert, Loretta Devine, and more) shines with heart. It's nostalgic without being sentimental, and it leaves you feeling genuinely good - like finding something you didn't know you'd lost. It made me laugh, tear up, and think about the little things that make life meaningful. Every object, every moment, every character feels like home.
A charming instant classic!
In a moment when the morale in America is whispering to every citizen that perhaps the American dream is dead, or at least on its last legs, Lost and Found in Cleveland's premiere couldn't be more timely and relevant to remind us of who we are and where we come from.
At its core, the film is about worthiness and belonging, as told through a beautifully spun allegory about 5 hopeful Clevelanders who bring their personal objects to "Lost and Found" (think "The Antiques Road Show") to see if they are worth anything.
First time film makers Marisa Guterman and Keith Gerchak have assembled an all star cast to tell its tale...even including recent Emmy Winner Jeff Hiller in a fun, if minor role and Hollywood heavy weights Martin Sheen, Dennis Haysbert, Loretta Devine, June Squibb, Stacey Keach, Dot Marie Jones and Jon Lovitz. We haven't seen this much talent in an ensemble cast since Love Actually.
Not all plot lines land the way the filmmakers intended, but overall, you don't really care because it almost makes the film feel that much more authentic and homespun and thus intrinsically mid-western.
The stand out performance and anchor of the film belongs to Dennis Haysbert, who truly encapsulates the films main message: that we are all worthy of a bigger, better next chapter and Gods delays are not Gods denials.
If you're looking for a sleeper-hit film of the holiday season, I'd start here.

Why aren't there more movies like this?
A cute, creative, touching, silly story that hits in ways I forgot movies could hit. Big win for indie films. It's been a while since I saw a movie that was trying to do something for entertainment and art - those concepts feel mutually exclusive at the movies these day. Not with this flick. Funny, charming, retro feel, with an amount of sincerity movies could use more of.
A Heartwarming Gem with Soul, Humor & Unforgettable Charm
Lost & Found is the kind of film that sneaks up on you-wrapping you in a story that feels both deeply personal and universally resonant.
The performances are nothing short of exquisite.
From the moment the film begins, you're pulled into a world that is equal parts, tender, and quirky. The writing sparkles with authenticity blending humor and poignancy with such effortless grace that you'll find yourself laughing through your tears more than once. The characters are richly drawn and undeniably human. Each carrying their own burdens hopes and hidden vulnerabilities.

Charming holiday fun!
What a delightful feel good movie! They really don't make them like this anymore-but this team did it! Enjoyed the powerhouse cast, the amazing Cleveland locations, and the screwball humor. It had a vintage feel but dealt with modern issues of the day and the human condition-especially our relationship to the past and complex family histories. So fun to have a reason to go to the movies - don't miss it!
