In high school, Franco Luzzi wrote a short story based on the "Our Father" prayer, appropriately titled "The Prayer," to which turned his story into a horror script of the same name. When Richard L. Haas III came on board as director, both him and Luzzi reworked the script into what became more of a character-based dark drama, which bared little to no resemblance to the original short story.
