Yooka-Laylee (2017)

Trivia

Yooka-Laylee

Edit
Jon Jafari was brought in to contributed a voice to the game but following controversial remarks Jafari made in the spring of 2017, Playtonic decided to remove his contribution.
Funded through a KickStarter fund raising campaign, the game was fully funded with more than $1Million raised making it the fastest game ever to reach $1m on the platform, taking just five hours and 41 minutes to do so. Only four other KickStarter projects have hit the milestone faster, and none of them were games. It also has gone on to become the highest funded UK based project, bypassing previous record holder, Elite: Dangerous (2014).
The game reunites several former staff members of video game developer Rare.
To spread awareness of the Kickstarter, composer for Banjo-Kazooie (1998), Grant Kirkhope uploaded a video on YouTube of himself playing Spiral Mountain from Banjo-Kazooie using a ukulele and a kazoo.
Due to technical issues plans for the Nintendo Wii U version were cancelled in favor for developing for Nintendo's next generation console, the Nintendo Switch.
