This is the last game to feature Chikao Ôtsuka, who was the Japanese Voice Actor of Dr. Eggman who voiced him from 1998 up until his Death in Early 2015. Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games (2016) uses archived audio of Otsuka from the Previous Mario & Sonic Games.
