One of the most iconic revenge dramas of 1990's returns as 'GHAYAL ONES AGAIN', the film marks an action-packed comeback of Sunny Deol and audience will also get to see his 'Dhai kilo ka haath' but actions scenes arrives very late. I would just say it as an above average movie. The trademark Ghayal background score at the starting matches that of Singham Series. Sunny as a writer tried to keep it simple but the simplicity couldn't be executed during the screenplay that makes the story some what predictable. The strong dialogues and power packed punches are sadly missing from the film. The whole film is shot in Mumbai with some magnificent camera-work around Ambani mansion. The cinematography is like showing a 1990's film with modern style. There is smooth flow of story with no interruptions in the form of songs or love angle between Soha and Sunny and this goes in favour of the movie. Sunny is not as fierce as he was in Ghayal and Ghatak. Thankfully the hand to hand fights seems to be realistic there were no flying thugs and cars. Despite the flaws, Sunny as 'Ajay Mehra' exudes the sincerity and unbreakable spirit of a common man. If you are a fan of Sunny Paaji you should watch it, but watch only if you are having free time of two hours, as you might like the movie for time, you are watching the movie.

Sunny is back as Ajay Mehra after 26 years gap however he has unable to match the momentum with previous installment in field of Direction, script and Acting. Fight sequences were good and delighted to watch Sunny in action scenes. Manoj will make you laugh with perfect comic timing. Some dialogs were too bad in serious cinema like "Wo satya ke Fidaeen hain". Train jump and Helicopter hijack sequence were difficult to digest. Audiences were expecting Climax like old part however Script disappointed. There was not much scope for Soha and Om puri.Sunny did not include any additional song as that one is not required. You will love it if you are Sunny's die hard fan.

Not a die hard fan of Deol but I am of his work in 1990 GHAYAL. So I went to watch this one and yes it's worth watching. The plot is pretty straight forward and lacks the twists and turns as in the 1990 GHAYAL but then action has improved and seriously has the potential to keep one glued. The characters do fade in and out sometimes abruptly but then they have done justice to their roles, especially NARENDRA JHA (Sachin Bansal) who had big shoes to fill in place of legendary actor Amrish Puri (Balwant Rai). The trademark GHAYAL tune helps. Yeah there are few loop holes and certain scenes don't make sense but then AJAY MEHRA the core of the movie, still remains the same, powerful at dialogue delivery and good in action. And just as an old song says "SOCH NA KYA JO BHI HOGA DEKHA JAYEGA", don't think give a watch once.

One of my personal favorite movie was Ghayal (1990). The dialogues, Action and Sunny Deol! After 26 years Sunny is back with the sequel, which is a good decision or bad, can be told once you watch the movie.
For me. it was a thoughtful and strategic decision for Sunny to be back with the sequel as he knows, Ghayal gave him the best limelight and the movie has got its own loyal audience base, which is why he took the risk to come back with ghayal once again.
For me the movie looked good. typical Bollywood masala with action, though I missed Sunny's intense dialogues (there are very few in the entire movie, though whenever they are there, its like 90's superstar is back with bang).
Perfect Emotions, action and an OK direction with a above average script is a risky affair, either it can be a blockbuster or a total flop. For me the action and Sunny works in here. he is unstoppable, one man army and can give current action stars a run for their money.
the action scenes are raw, and gripping, emotional sunny at its best, good support cast but what the best part was the Background music!!! its the classiness of the Background score that guarantees Goose bumps! The CGI effects in few scenes are easily noticeable, but still its negligible given the Aura of the star "Sunny Deol" presence in the movie! For me I felt the old sunny is back with a bang for sure, though if this movie would have been directed by Santoshi or any other action director, it would have been better.
Lastly this is full family entertainer and should be watched in theatre only to enjoy the punches of sunny and the background score!

Sunny Deol means Hardcore action with Throat Soaring dialogues in India.
This one is completely a different one, there is action but not the likes of Ghayal and Ghatak, dialogues too but not like "Balwant Rai me Kutte" but this is one high octane high adrenaline movie with a connection to Corporate family.
Watch it for Sunny and Good cinema.
Pass it for the above-mentioned Reasons.
I enjoyed it .

Guys, saw this movie first day first show
and it was totally worth it
Please do't give a s**t to what critics and (un)professional reviewers have to say.. Sunny has put his heart and soul into the movie which can be literally felt through his screen presence
the movie has some great action & sunny simply rocks them.. Refreshingly, most of the action scenes in movie are different than those being regularly dished out in movies these days
Mumbai has been shot beautifully in the movie
Dan Bradely has done excellent job and deserves acknowledgment for his work..
Though direction could have been better at few instances and script/screenplay a bit tighter, u can easily forgive sunny (the director) as sunny (the actor) more than makes up for that through his acting prowess All in all, a genuine action movie which can be enjoyed by the family together.. commodity which is scarce in supply these days.. Go fans and watch it for sunny as he is already 58 and you never know when you will see him again doing action like only he can do..!!

Ajay played by Sunny Deol has been released from the jail, and now works for special force against crime. A bunch of students have now found evidence against a criminal tycoon. The story sets ahead will it reach an ethical end?
Pros: Innocent movie with no complicated politics. Great action sequences filmed. Song Track Lapak Jhapak is nice. Ghayal and Ghayal once again altogether released in different time frame of viewing audience, both movies do enough justice to their current audience. Om Puri has acted as usually great. I would stay positive on the Deol side for the dedicated work.
Cons: Weak acting in some areas.
Rating: 7.0/10

One of the worst directed movie I have seen. Sunny Deol should stop directing.
Ridiculous plots planted in movie to extend story line. Can't explain in words how bad this movie is. This movie may have been directed with storyline developed on the spot.
People liking this movie have to be on electro shock like the 60 yr old hero is in this movie or definitely on drugs.
If I was in Indian theater I would have thrown a few eggs and rotten tomatoes to throw on the screen - this movie doesn't deserve anything else. Forget F - would give this movie a Z Minus

It's good to see Sunny Deol making a comeback but the scripting could have been made way better. The scenes from the prequel of the movies came flashing repeatedly and irritated the viewers again and again. The link between the two movies was good but repeated use of instances from the previous movie made the current one a little boring and took it out of the track. The movie started with establishing a link between the two movies and moved on for further action. Inclusion of the kids never made sense till last minutes when the relation between the Sunny's character and one of the girls come up. Possibly the relation twist was added just to give the audience a feel of a Bollywood movie. This also brings a question to my mind that will there be a movie made in Bollywood that won't involve emotional and relational attachments other than those movies made for national patriotism. Soha Ali Khan had nothing to offer and thus always looked confused in the movie. Om Puri's short stint was added just to create a balance between the two parts of the movie. Still, it's a delight for Sunny Deol's fans and is a good one time watch.

SUNNY Sir i respect you & your older movies...but not this one..
I am giving 3/10 stars for just for first 30 minutes of this movie, the way flashback are shown, character settings are done.. i felt movie should be well carried as sequel of original one..but then it all goes nuts..
At opening of the movie....Movie characters are represented as tech- savvy generation, but through out entire movie no one doesn't make use of technology. It feels like only villain in this movie is allowed to make use of technology. I mean at this age of whatsapp, youtube, twitter, media (kids shown in movie actually using them at their intro scenes), don't even have common sense to use this mediums when they actually needed it..
Plot of this movie was itself build on weak concept. Apart from that Poor direction, Poor Visual effects, Reality was nowhere (like kids are getting bitten at public places without others noticing or helping, stupid train, helicopter action sequences...all headache)
Truly disappointed while watching this movie, was just waiting for end of movie..i was expecting lot better movie as it was sequel of my favorite movie GHAYAL. but now its just disappointment !!!!!!

I don't know how to start with this title. Have nothing in knowledge about this movie or its prequel. But, I admit that Ghayal Once Again is a good Sunny Dheol's production. Well, the last thing that I watched about him was Yamla Pagla Deewana. A total different genre and quality. Speaking about quality, I thought that its quality is one of the negative point from this movie. Tried to 'eye to eye', let's presume how SRK did railway scene in R.A. One and this title one. Well, it is not supposed to be presented, but let's give a huge bow for trying. I wasn't shocked with Sunny's super jab and his big arms, surely we saw it on his other movies. As an actor, I would like to say, he playing so safe out there, but to extend that he is a director of this title, so we could say that this is a huge movement and a huge progress remembering his first directorial debut was Dillagi and it was years back then. The other casts, I'd like to say, again, he play safe to put a rare known actors but it acceptable to put youngster for fighting for justice and truth. I think that was the positive point from this title. Come to the story line which made by Shaktiman Talwar and Sagar Pandya. I'd like to comment about this one... this is so 'Hollywood stories'. There a lot of Bollywood tried to adapt 'Taken' line story in light version, such as Akshay's Holiday then this title as well. Maybe the idea of Ghayal slightly brought in this title. If we're going to draw a line, then it should be 'Ghayal' that they're tried to portray. But it has nothing to do with it unless the main character, Ajay Mehra suffered from such illness. To sum up, this movie is quite light and 'popcorn' type which you can spend your time with dear ones. Story it self has lacking in minor things, but overall you will be annoyed with Kabir's not-so- philanthropic and his fear-of-public-disgraced father.

The movie released on 5th Feb and apparently people were so overcome with jubiliance at seeing the movie that they couldn't wait to reach home to post a detailed review of the movie.
Its sad to see IMDB not having a strong check on fake movie reviews most likely sponsored by producers to boost the revenue of their movies.
Any true fan of the classic Ghayal would say this was a crap movie and an insult to the legend that was " Ghayal" and coming from Sunny who was the star of the legacy film this is more shocking.

Ajay Mehra (Sunny Deol) runs an investigative newspaper that seeks truth not business. Which is why four college kids strive to handover a murder footage to him, accidentally recorded by them. However, it's not as easy as it sounds since some influential people are involved.
Director Sunny Deol fairly manages to retain the essence of the Santoshi's 'Ghayal' blockbuster, while giving it a contemporary twist. While the good-old dialogues and hand-to-hand combat scenes are in place, digitization in today's world (computer hacking, phone tapping etc) has been highlighted too.
Though not as emotionally engaging as the original, the sequel delivers what it promises on the action front. Skilfully shot, elaborate nail-biting chase sequences across the city leave you glued to your seats, gasping for breath. Heavy-duty fist fights are equally gripping. Soha Ali Khan acts well and so do the teenagers.
Despite some flaws, Sunny's idealistic film exudes the sincerity and unbreakable spirit of a common man. If you mess with us, "We will find you and we will punch you." Haha You Must Watch it.

Complete Time pass movie and is a passable if you have nothing else to do. I watched this on one of my long haul flights. Sunny Deol is visibly very old in the movie but fine that he is not dancing around the trees but in a role of a justice maker. The business tycoon seems to be like one of the Amabnis and the story points out on a flip side, the way Ambanis function. Like having a IT team hacking into all systems, being above the law etc. Some scenes are completely silly like the road chase, shopping mall chase and helicopter crashing into the building etc. Strange that these movies make lot of money.

It is an excellent action movie and refreshing from the bang bang stuff that we see very often. Unlike action movies, where the focus is on the action only, this has a lot of grit and emotions in it. It really catches you hard. There was never a dull moment in the whole movie.
The way Mumbai has been shown was amazing, especially the action scenes in the bylanes. It looked very realistic, something that most commercial movies do not get right. The action director has done an amazing job in making the movie action look as realistic as possible. Some of the actions are choreographed so brilliantly that I actually wanted the theatre to rewind it.
The story is raw, gritty ... some times over the top, but that is the hallmark of Sunny Deol movies. Nothing really wrong in that. It starts off from where the first part left off. Ajay Mehra is out of jail and is now the head of an investigative newspaper that fights for the underprivileged. Fate gets him closer to a group of kids who witness a crime by mistake. This gets them closer to the antagonist who is out to destroy any traces of his crime. He subverts and abuses the entire machinery to get his way. How Ajay fights this network and comes out the winner forms the crux of the movie.
I really recommend this movie for people who like raw, gritty action.

The sequel to the 1990 super-hit Ghayal, 'Ghayal Once Again', which is also directed by its lead-star Sunny Deol, is engaging in parts. The drama is overdone & even the action is surprisingly less. However, Sunny's powerful performance & some clever moments act as a major plus.
'Ghayal Once Again' Synopsis: When a video of his mentor's murder surfaces, an investigative journalist takes action to find those responsible.
'Ghayal Once Again' begins nicely & the drama moves on a good pace. But, the action starts off too late & the second-hour suffers from melodrama. There is more noise, than intensity in the latter hour, although the proceedings are watchable at all times. I wish Sunny & his Co-Writers would've worked more on the intensity level & punched in more action. Being a sequel to a cult-classic, this sequel is slightly underwhelming, given the expectations one had from it.
Sunny's Direction is quite nice & he has handled a couple of sequences well. Cinematography is alright. Editing is mostly crisp. Action-Sequences are a few & they aren't terrific either. Graphics are tacky. Background Score is fine.
Performance-Wise: Its Sunny all the way. He delivers a powerful performance as Ajay Mehra, reprising the legendary hero, with complete conviction. Soha Ali Khan is awkward. Narendra Jha is excellent, his character is not a complete villain, in fact, you feel bad for him at times & Jha nails every nuance. Tisca Chopra is motionless. Manoj Joshi is monotonous. Om Puri is wonderful in a brief role. Nadira Babbar is first-rate. Sachin Khedekar does a fair job. Aanchal Munjal shows tremendous promise.
On the whole, 'Ghayal Once Again' is compelling in portions, but is no where close to its prequel.

For once, Bollywood has come out with a sequel which feels organically grown. The 1990 hit 'Ghayal', featuring Sunny Deol as the ordinary-guy- forced-into-taking-the-law-into-his-own-hands, gave the leading man a lasting edge in the snarling stakes. No one could do it better. 'Ghayal Once Again' picks up threads from where the original had left off (there are brief flashbacks to prove it), borrows a character from the previous film, and presents the same leading man as older and grizzled, but as filled with hurt and rage as before, doing what he did before: acting as a one-man army against the corrupt system. he difference is in the director. Sunny Deol picks up the baton, and tries running with it. But he doesn't go too far. Because the plot is a tired, tiresome cobbling together of bits and pieces of films we've seen before: the villains are familiar—a wealthy businessman (Jha), a complicit politician (Joshi), and their henchmen. Same old, yes, but with one more difference: many of the bad guys are 'firangis'. And that's the trouble with this 'Ghayal' redux. The foreign element is all over the place: parts of the film remind you of 'Die Hard', 'Mission Impossible', 'True Lies', and other Hollywood actioners, overlaying a bunch of youngsters being terrorized by hoodlums, a Mumbai over-run by goons belonging to a billionaire who lives in a distinctive shaped building, an RTI activist (Puri) who comes to a sorry pass, and Ajay Satyakam Mehra galloping to the rescue.
