The Box from the first film in the series 'Monster In The Box' can be seen during the title screen and end credits when you see a close up of the oroborus symbol. A different box was used as the main box throughout the rest of this film however, as the original was destroyed during the final shot of the first film. The panel with the symbol from the original film is all that survives.
The first shot of outer space at the start of the film includes a bright orange planet in the foreground. This planet is actually an image taken at an opticians of the back of the eyeball of the director's father.
During the end credits you see lots of photographs of 'The Box' throughout history, linking it to many real life mysteries, conspiracies and controversies. These included the sinking of the titanic, alien life, and the deaths of Princess Diana, JFK and Elvis.
Before the post credits scene at the end of the film, the camera zooms into what appears to be earth to show the location of the last scene. The planet shown isn't earth at all, but rather is an artists render of what the planet Mars would look like if it were terraformed.
