The plot has a nice twist.
Listen to the music. It is TOPS!!! I wish Mr. Boots would release the music as mp3/mp4.
Room 88 is a creative, insightful, and fun sci-fi short film about the resident of apartment 88, Mr. Tesla, and his troublesome neighbor, Mr. Debogorski, who frequently complains about noise and anything else related to Mr. Tesla.
It's revealed that Mr. Tesla-an obvious nod to Nikola Tesla-is an inventor conducting experiments with his latest creation: a "time recorder" that enables time travel. One night, after activating the device, strange and interesting events unfold as Mr. Tesla receives several unexpected visitors from the future-mainly fans eager to witness the moment the time recorder was invented.
With a runtime of only 8 minutes, Room 88 delivers quite a lot. It offers a fun and captivating story with a clear beginning and end, poses some philosophical questions about time travel, and leaves you thinking. The acting is excellent across the board, and there's plenty of subtle, hidden humor-once you spot it, you can't unsee it.
For me, this is one of the best short films under 10 minutes that I've seen.
