A successful Kickstarter campaign was conducted to raise funds to enhance & complete the post production elements involved, such as better special effects and sound design.
The town was unexpectedly hit by multiple polar vortexes dumping tons of snow during shooting. Not only was it one of the largest snow storms in decades it was also the earliest snow fall they'd seen in years.
The phrase the girl speaks during the exorcism scene, "nuqDaq 'Oh puchpa' 'e'" is Klingon for "Where is the bathroom".
