George's mother, a.k.a. Andrea Skolnik, at age 19.

FAQ

The Edwin J. Hill Social Club

Edwin J. Hill is the name of the man in a portrait. George Bailey found this portrait in his neighbor's trash. He rescued it, hung it up on his wall at home, and nicknamed his home "The Edwin J. Hill Social Club." Much is unknown about the real Edwin J. Hill; he is not the man of the same name who lost his life at Pearl Harbor.

You bet. Andrea Skolnik, George's real-life mother, agreed to play the part. She found the Oedipal satire in the episode to be clever. The framed picture on the wall is also her, taken when she was 19 years old. At a public screening for the season one finale, Andrea signed autographs as "George's mom" on copies of that same picture.

Somewhat. Characters and jokes will reappear, but otherwise most episodes lack a greater sense of continuity. There will be episodes where George dies, Drew dies, the world is destroyed, and then in the next episode it's all reset.
