Edit
This is the first Indian film to be released in 4K High Definition format. Close to 200 screens were upgraded to 4K projectors before the release date of the film.
Prabhas had to postpone his marriage plans for this movie and had dedicated himself for five years just for the films.
Rana Daggubati who plays the role of 'Bhallaldeva', the main antagonist of the film revealed that he is blind in his right eye.
On 6 May 2017, this movie became the highest grossing Indian film of all time. It broke the previous record by grossing $131 million just a week after release. It was the first Indian movie to collect 1000 crore INR in worldwide box office, doing so on its 10th day of release. It is also the highest grossing film in India alone. This is the first time a non Hindi film has held the record of the highest grossing Indian film of all time. Within India, it set many films records, becoming the highest-grossing film in Hindi, as well as in its original Telugu and Tamil languages.
